Treasure Bin

Ssshhhh!   As a member of our F Club (Friends, Fans and Followers of Treasure Bin), you’re getting advance information on our summer sale.
Treasure Bin first opened its doors on 15 August 1998. Every year we celebrate our anniversary with a sale to spread the joy!  This year the sale will run from 19 August to   1 September and I’ll post again before that with full details of the discounts, coupon code for EXTRA discounts, etc. You can also check our Facebook page and Twitter for ongoing information. Remember - only the F Club is getting this advance information so mum’s the word!

Our website has had an overhaul this week …  we’ve freshened the look and added a few functions to make it easier for you to view and buy. There’s still a little tweaking to do but, in the meantime, take a look and see what you think!  

Here’s the changes which won’t be immediately obvious: 

• Our loyalty scheme for customers re-ordering within one month wasn’t working consistently, so we’ve now changed that to enable customers to get a discount when re-ordering within 2 months instead, to allow more leeway.  We had to reduce the percentages accordingly - you can get full details here.
   
• We’ve been able to negotiate a better rate with our couriers so our maximum charge for delivery within Ireland (inc. Northern Ireland) is now just €8 instead of €10 for orders weighing less than 30kg. We offer flat-rate postage of just €4 for club members and FREE nationwide delivery when you spend over €50. Local customers can order online and then collect from our shop.
   
• Unfortunately, the cost of courier delivery to Britain and elsewhere has increased dramatically over the last couple of years and we can no longer maintain our maximum charge of €15. Orders weighing more than 2kg will now cost €28+  Orders weighing less than 1kg will usually cost between €1.50 and €8 (depending on size, weight and destination) and we’re still offering flat-rate postage of just €6 for club members for as long as we can.
   
• A button has been added to our homepage to enable you to subscribe to this monthly (more or less) newsletter without needing to create a customer account. You can also follow us onTwitter, Tumblr and Pinterest.

Craft Classes

Our craft classes are finishing up in May with wedding invitations, headpieces and decorations.

PRODUCT UPDATE

In our March newsletter, I mentioned that I’d placed several orders at the Craft Hobby & Stitch show. These have now finally started arriving so we have a nice range of books for learning how to sew, knit or crochet and I got a good selection of Payper Box cardstock. I’ve implemented a scheme whereby you can get a €1 rebate for the larger Payper Box wallets in new condition (or €1 discount if you’re refilling your own wallet). This is proving very popular with our customers so I’ll keep doing that for as long as possible, in the face of constantly rising prices! I’m expecting delivery of Hunkydory card kits, Debbi Moore CDs and some needle-felting kits next week. In the coming weeks, I hope to get Sugarblossom moulds, self-adhesive crystals and other craft kits.

It’s been a wet, wild & windy week in Donegal and across the country. Time to cheer ourselves up so I’m launching our (now) annual 12 Days of Christmas* competition. It’s mostly for fun but a small prize will be awarded to each day’s winner, as decided by the number of likes (or judge’s decision).

All entries must be submitted to our Facebook page or our email address.

*Other wintertime festivals are welcome.

There are 12 “tasks” - one for each day between 11 and 22 December. Each day’s task will be judged around 6pm, based on the number of likes/comments received. The winner will be announced on our Facebook page and then we will ask for entries for the next day’s task. All tasks are listed below to give you time to think about it. You can submit entries in advance but Facebook followers will be asked to give priority to that day’s task.

RULES

• All entries must be submitted to our Facebook page or our email address (which we will then submit to Facebook on your behalf).

• The entry with the most likes on our Facebook page by 6pm for that day’s task wins (in the event of a tie or exceptionally low number of votes, judge’s decision is final). Entries for other tasks can be submitted ahead of time but followers will be asked to give priority to voting for that day’s task.

• The winner will be asked to email their postal address to Treasure Bin so that a prize can be sent. (Prizes have a retail value of between €2 and €10.)
