Well, the world didn’t end so I guess that the end of the Mayan calendar just meant time to get a new calendar! I hope you’re all enjoying the holidays in whatever way suits you best. I had a short break to spend time with family. Although the shop won’t be open for another week, I’m not exactly on holiday any more as I’ll be spending the new few days (& evenings) working on the website, trying to catch up on uploading the hundreds of new goodies that were delivered over the last number of weeks. Halloween discount
Halloween’s a-coming! In this corner of Ireland, the celebrations tend to extend over a couple of weeks because it’s a Bank Holiday in Donegal (and the rest of Eire) on the last Monday of October but in Northern Ireland (and the rest of the UK) it’s the first Monday of November. A great excuse for two weekends of partying!
Treasure Bin is joining in the fun this year by encouraging our customers to dress up on Saturday, 27 October. Anyone showing up in costume at our Letterkenny shop will get a 10% discount on their purchase - and maybe a wee pressie for the wains (translation: a little gift for the children).
Be warned, half-hearted attempts will be met with half a discount … or less! But if the judge (i.e. me) is seriously impressed, there just might be one or more prizes for the adults as well. Judge’s decision is final.

Summer Sale, Autumn Classes
Our sale is almost over - it ends today (Saturday) in our Letterkenny shop and online tomorrow. So Summer is over and Autumn is here. That means our craft workshops are underway again. Next week we start knitting and I’ll also be showing how to knit with wire and beads to make unusual jewellery. Full schedule and booking form here. Revamp and Promotions
Treasure Bin will be getting an overhaul this weekend as we upgrade the website. This will give a fresher, cleaner look and there’ll be a few extra functions - including the ability to sign up to our monthly newsletter without having to create a customer account. We’ll be celebrating this “facelift” with a full month of promotions, so check this blog (or our Facebook page) each week for the discount codes to get 20% off.

PRODUCT UPDATE
In our March newsletter, I mentioned that I’d placed several orders at the Craft Hobby & Stitch show. These have now finally started arriving so we have a nice range of books for learning how to sew, knit or crochet and I got a good selection of Payper Box cardstock. I’ve implemented a scheme whereby you can get a €1 rebate for the larger Payper Box wallets in new condition (or €1 discount if you’re refilling your own wallet). This is proving very popular with our customers so I’ll keep doing that for as long as possible, in the face of constantly rising prices! I’m expecting delivery of Hunkydory card kits, Debbi Moore CDs and some needle-felting kits next week. In the coming weeks, I hope to get Sugarblossom moulds, self-adhesive crystals and other craft kits.
